Restaurant menu Review:

J.R. Brody’s Roadside Tavern

The menu is rather simplistic, starting with eleven Appetizers, then twelve Entrees, folding over to seven Soups and Salads, four Burgers, four Pastas, and ending with eight sandwiches. When I ordered there I got Chicken Tenders with A Basket of fries, the chicken was tender and the fries appeared to be homemade. However, a few friends of mine ordered Shrimp Scampi, a Roadside Burger and a cup of Mashed potatoes, they were less than pleased to say the least. The Shrimp Scampi was very bland and tasteless, the Roadside burger was ordered well done, but came out to more of a medium rare, and was very bland and tasteless to say the least. Lastly, the mashed potatoes were extremely watery and drippy. But the menu itself is good, rather organized with a small menu, but still enough for people to choose, but is priced a little bit on the high side, but expected from a small restaurant in a small town. The menu has a daily vegetable and changes somewhat according to season, they have a “You Catch Em’ We Cook Em’!” special, people go fishing in spring, so they have more seafood then. The menu is presented on a simple trifold piece of paper, no need to make it fancy, however it seems that they may have tried to trick our eyes, the entrees are made much larger than everything else, perhaps they were trying to make it seem like there were more entrees than what was actually put on. All in all, it is a good menu, mostly acceptable food, with a possibly deceiving entrée list, and lastly notifications saying to contact the restaurant of any food allergies and that ingestion of undercooked food may be harmful.
